Testing your network with EXFO Exchange is straigtforward and only require a minimum of setup.

Select where you want to collect your results

Before you begin collecting results from a test unit, it’s crucial to select your work location. This involves choosing the organization you’re associated with and then specifying the workspace.

Workspaces centralize all collected results for you and your team members. Find your current workspace at the top of your homepage as shown above. To change workspace, tap the “unfold” icon next to your current workspace name. When selecting a workspace, always choose the organization in which the workspace is located.

Connecting your device

To connect a device with Bluetooth, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, go to the Test units screen and tap Connect a test unit

1. EXFO Exchange will scan to fine nearby Bluetooth devices. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your unit

2. Select your unit once it appears on the screen

3. Follow the instructions on your unit’s screen to finalize the pairing process

4. Once the pairing is completed, you device will appear on the Test units screen

5. Tap on your device to enable the “live” connection.

6. Optionally, you can tap on the “gear” icon to configure your unit, such as the Wi-Fi

To connect a FIP-435B, you first need to connect your smartphone to the device’s Wi-Fi hotspot, by going to your phone’s Wi-Fi Settings and select your FIP-354B as the network.

Doing tests

Once your Bluetooth or Wi-Fi device is connected. you can leave your smartphone in your pocket and execute your tests with your unit as you normally would.

The EXFO Exchange application will continue to run in the background and all new test results will be automatically synched to your account.

View results

To view the latest results transfered from your unit to the app, simply go to the Results page.

You can also tap on a specific result to view the details and generate a report.

Transfer your results

Upon collecting a result, your team can immediately access it within its respective workspace through the web app, provided an internet connection is available. In situations where internet access is temporarily unavailable, the results will be automatically synchronized with the cloud as soon as an internet connection is reestablished.

Create PDF reports (exclusive to OX1 and FIP-500 test units results)

You can create a PDF report from OX1 and FIP-500 results and share them the way you want:

1. From the Results page, tap the specific result you wish to include in your report

2. Access the three-dot menu situated on the top app bar

3. Select “Create a report”

4. Proceed to input the desired information you want to incorporate into the report.

5. Tap on “Create” located on the top app bar to generate the report

6. Share the report effortlessly using the share icon also situated on the top app bar. This allows you to share the report in your preferred manner.

To view detailed fiber images of your results on your mobile, enable the option for including the images upon transferring results. You can set this up during the initial connection of your FIP-500 to your mobile, following the guided steps on your mobile. Alternatively, adjust the setting at any time in the app Settings. Simply go to the Settings page from the navigation drawer menu and activate “Include detailed fiber images upon FIP-500 results transfer.”
