Creating jobs

You can create jobs in EXFO Exchange to better identify the tests to execute on your network and assign them to members of your organization.

Creating a job from the web app

You can use the web application easily create a job from a default template.

  1. From the Jobs page, click on the +Add button.
  2. Name the jobs.
  3. Define a status and assignees.
  4. Select a template.
  5. Select a test configuration.
  6. Review the number of cables and fibers to test.
  7. Define additional properties, such as.
    1. Company, Customer.
    2. Location A and B.
    3. Planned date and Due date.

   If the assignee you want to select is not on the list, you can validate if that person has access to the current workspace (or a parent workspace).

Jobs created with the default templates have the following structure:

  • Only one test type (depends on the selected template)
  • Test points identified with Cable ID and Fiber ID

If you need more flexibility when creating jobs, you can import them by CSV.

p Depending on the test type, a specific test unit could be required.
For instance, only the Optical Explorer (OX1) can execute OLX tests.

Creating jobs from the mobile app

You can also create a job for yourself on the mobile app, which allows you to identify in advance the tests you want to execute with one of you connected test units.

  1. From the Jobs screen, tap the + button.
  2. Name the job.
  3. Select a test type.
  4. Add at least one list of test points.
    1. Define the first value i.e. From.
    2. Define the last value .i.e. To.

A preview of the first and last 5 test points will be displayed when you define the From and To values.
You can also define more than one list of test points if required.
